Parents Learn Too
Unlike most Suzuki teachers, I like parents to be intimately involved in their children’s learning process, especially in the initial stages when the child is very young. I give parents individual lessons and they also come to parent group classes a few times during the term. Many parents have discovered a love of music in this way. They also learn to produce good sound, work through the Suzuki repertoire (up to the end of Book 1 or the middle of Book 2), and develop the necessary skills to supervise practice and enjoy playing duets with their children. Invariably it also enhances the bond between parent and child.
